Abraham Believed The Lord

(Saturday, 2nd May 2026)

[Verse 1]
Abraham believed the Lord,
And righteousness was given;
He left his land at God's command,
And walked the road to Heaven.
Through pain and sorrow on the way,
The Father knew his crying.
Yet still he trusted in His Word,
On Him alone relying.

[Chorus]
Lord, give me faith to follow Thee,
And grace to trust Thy will;
Wherever Thou shalt lead my feet,
Help me obey Thee still.
Let not the cloud of doubt arise,
Nor fear my heart control;
But let Thy holy burning Word
Be fire within my soul.

[Verse 2]
We sing of Abraham's blessing,
Yet fear his path of pain;
We long to wear his crown of faith,
But shrink from loss and strain.
The Father gives abundant grace
To those who bear the trial;
But none should boast or measure life
By another servant's mile.

[Chorus]
Lord, give me faith to follow Thee,
And grace to trust Thy will;
Wherever Thou shalt lead my feet,
Help me obey Thee still.
Let not the cloud of doubt arise,
Nor fear my heart control;
But let Thy holy burning Word
Be fire within my soul.

[Verse 3]
When Abraham failed and wandered wrong,
The Father's voice reproved him;
Yet still he held the promise fast,
For deep within, he loved Him.
And when the son of promise came,
The greatest test was given.
He yielded all upon the mount,
And trusted the God of Heaven.

[Chorus]
Lord, give me faith to follow Thee,
And grace to trust Thy will;
Wherever Thou shalt lead my feet,
Help me obey Thee still.
Let not the cloud of doubt arise,
Nor fear my heart control;
But let Thy holy burning Word
Be fire within my soul.

[Final Chorus]
Lord, give me faith to follow Thee,
And grace to trust Thy will;
Wherever Thou shalt lead my feet,
Help me obey Thee still.
Let not the cloud of doubt arise,
Nor fear my heart control;
But let Thy holy burning Word
Be fire within my soul.
