Blessed is he who knows his God,
And seeks his Maker in his youth;
Before the days of strength are gone,
He learns the way of light and truth.
In wisdom he shall then be built,
In knowledge of the Lord Most High;
And peace shall compass all his path,
Beneath the Father's watchful eye.

If peace is given from above,
Why should a man despise such grace?
For many, seeking greater things,
Have lost both wealth and resting place.
Some left the little that they had,
To chase the promise of more gain;
Yet in the path of restless greed
They found but sorrow, loss, and pain.

Their joy and safety then did cease.
