The shepherds lost their birthright pure,
They dined where Lucifer prepared.
They turned Thy altar into trade,
And left Thy holy flock ensnared.
Their tongues are filled with subtle wounds,
Their teachings lead the blind astray.
They close the gate of Heaven's rest
And block the pilgrim's narrow way.

Let righteousness return again;

Like Israel's elders long ago,
They set up idols in Thy place;
They gather souls from every land
To worship them instead of grace.
But Thou hast marked their time and space,
Thy judgement shall not sleep for long;
As falling trees bring others down,
So shall they fall with all their wrong.
